Leads in Net Access
Almost
40% of the estimated 280 million worldwide Internet users log on from the
United States, according to a new Internet Industry Almanac
(http://www.c-i-a.com/forecasts.htm).
However, the U.S. is only fourth in Internet users per capita. Canada is
the leader with nearly 43 percent of the population being regular Internet
users, measured as someone who uses the Internet at least once a month.
The Almanac projects that the U.S. share of Internet users will slip to
27% of a total 601 million worldwide Internet users in 2002.
